Greet someone, ask how they are, and say goodbye — formally or informally.
Personal Pronouns. A Brief Self-Introduction
Introduce yourself, and know when to use ти and when to use ви.
Countries and Nationalities
Say your nationality and which country you are from.
Numbers and Age
Count to 100 and say your age with the right ending: рік, роки or років.

Questions, answered
Is the Ukrainian course really free?
Yes. The six-lesson A0 course from the Speak Ukrainian school is free for their students on AvalaVoice. You redeem your school join code once and the whole course opens — videos, theory, word lists with native audio, exercises and the AI dialogue at the end of each lesson.
Do I need to know any Ukrainian to start?
No. A0 means absolute beginner: Lesson 1 starts at the Cyrillic alphabet and assumes you cannot read a single letter yet. If you can read this sentence, you can start.
How long does the course take?
One month — four weeks, six lessons. Each lesson takes about 20 to 30 minutes, and most weeks have one or two. Short, regular practice works better than one long session a week, especially for a new alphabet.
What is the AI dialogue at the end of a lesson?
A short spoken conversation in Ukrainian with an AI tutor, using only the words you have been taught so far. You can type or speak your answers. Afterwards you get an accuracy score, a speaking level and one short tip — instantly, and nobody else hears the recording.
