Words appear in Devanagari with a romanisation beside them, because a great many confident Hindi speakers never learned the script. Not reading it is not the same as not knowing the language.
The CEFR bands are the same everywhere. What sits inside them is not — A2 in Hindi asks for things A2 in another language never mentions. Here is what your result actually describes.
Greetings, numbers, and the "X है" sentence frame. You can introduce yourself. Whether you read Devanagari or a romanisation, you are still assembling words rather than recognising them whole.
Postpositions — को, से, में — sit where they belong, gender agreement on verbs is usually right, and you can talk about yesterday and tomorrow without rebuilding the sentence.
The ergative "ne" in the past no longer derails you, compound verbs like कर लेना and कर देना carry the nuance you intended, and you follow a film without subtitles for long stretches.
Heritage speakers commonly test above their reading level and below their speaking level at the same time. Neither number is wrong; they are measuring two different halves of the language.
Worth remembering either way: a multiple-choice test measures recognition. Speaking is a different muscle, and it is the one that decides whether a conversation happens.
