Speaking time is the one thing with a real cost per minute, so it is the one thing we charge for. Free also caps each day at 5 minutes; no paid plan does.

Before you decide
- What do I not get on the Free plan?
- Minutes. That is the whole answer — every language, lesson, scenario, pronunciation drill and analysis report is on the Free plan too. Paid plans buy you more speaking time and drop the 5-minute daily cap, not extra features.
- Do I need a card to try AvalaVoice?
- No — the Free plan needs no card at all, and neither does the 30-second demo. A card is only required to start a 14-day trial on a paid plan, and you are not charged until the trial ends.
- What happens after the 14-day trial?
- Your plan starts and the first payment is taken on day 15. Cancel before then and nothing is charged. The trial is a one-time offer per account — if you have subscribed before, a new plan starts and bills straight away.
- Can I switch plans later?
- Yes, up or down. Moving up takes effect immediately and you are invoiced the prorated difference for the rest of the period. Moving down is scheduled for the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep the bigger allowance until then.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes — one click in Billing. You keep the plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, then drop to Free. Nothing is deleted, and Free still has the whole product in it.
- What happens if I run out of minutes?
- New sessions pause until your allowance resets — daily on Free, monthly on paid plans. You can add 100 minutes for $4.99 at any time, on any plan including Free. Top-up minutes carry over: an allowance reset does not wipe them.
